Anxiety, Stress & Low Mood

When Things Start To Feel Too Much
Anxiety, stress and low mood can affect us in different ways. You might find yourself constantly worrying or overthinking, struggling to switch off, feeling tense or on edge, or simply finding that everyday life takes more effort than it used to.
Sometimes there is an obvious reason for how we’re feeling; at other times it can be much harder to understand. You may even find yourself thinking that you should be fine while knowing that something doesn’t quite feel right.
How Counselling Might Help
Rather than seeing difficult feelings as something that simply needs to be pushed away, counselling gives us an opportunity to become curious about what you’re experiencing and what those feelings might be telling you.
Together, we can slow things down and explore what may be contributing to the way you feel, including what’s happening in your life now and, where relevant, patterns or experiences from the past. We can also look at what helps you feel more grounded and able to cope. The aim isn’t for me to tell you how you should feel or what you should do, but to help you understand your experience more fully and find your own way forward.
